Medication reminders that actually get taken

Medication Reminders for Seniors — Smart Home Solution

About 100,000 seniors are hospitalized every year in the US from adverse medication events — and the majority are from missed doses, double doses, or dangerous drug interactions. Phone apps and pill organizers help, but they fail when your parent forgets to open the app or lose track of days. Voice + AI monitoring catches what the alternatives miss.

How our medication reminders work

At each scheduled dose window, the voice AI announces what to take and where it is. 'Mom, it's time for your 8 AM blood pressure pill. It's in the blue section of your weekly organizer.' Your parent takes it (or doesn't). The camera watches whether they went to the medication station. The family gets a daily compliance report.

What happens when a dose is missed

The AI re-prompts gently after 15 minutes. If still no response after 30 minutes, the family gets a push notification. If the dose is time-sensitive (Parkinson's meds, insulin, blood thinners), the family gets alerted immediately — no delay.

Integration with the pharmacy

We partner with pharmacies that offer weekly pre-sorted pill packs. These remove the most dangerous medication error: wrong pill from the wrong bottle. The AI knows your parent's schedule by day of week and dose window and announces accordingly.

Weekly compliance reports

Every Sunday, the family gets a one-page compliance report: which doses were taken on time, which were late, which were missed, any patterns the AI spotted. This goes to the primary care doctor optionally — they love seeing real adherence data before prescribing changes.

Frequently asked questions

What if my parent can't physically reach the medication?

For parents with mobility issues, we pair the voice reminders with a caregiver presence at the highest-risk times OR a smart pill dispenser that pre-dispenses the dose. The voice AI confirms via camera that the action happened.

Can it remind about PRN (as-needed) medications?

Yes — if your parent says 'my head hurts' or 'my back is bothering me,' the AI can remind them about PRN options (with doctor permission) and log the event for the care report.

What about over-the-counter supplements?

The AI tracks any medication or supplement you add to the schedule. Many missed-dose events involve supplements nobody was tracking, so this is worth setting up.

Does it integrate with my parent's pharmacy app?

We don't integrate directly with pharmacy apps today — the setup is manual (you enter the schedule once). This keeps the system simple and avoids pharmacy API fragility.
